Onward Crispin Glover, Takedown, Kid vs. Kid Review by Mark Cuthbertson I missed Kid vs. Kid. Other people described them as power-pop. Takedown followed with their brand of jock rock/power pop. While less original than most similar area bands, Takedown is blessed with high-quality vocals which surpass many of their peers. Drummer Pat Brede wore a t-shirt bearing a slam against George Schultz, who had just published a review of the band’s album. For more information on Takedown, read George’s accurate, fair, and detailed review of their album. Onward Crispin Glover took the stage and blew me away. Very few pop bands have grabbed my attention since TV50 (Lushbox, the Believe It Or Nots, and…?). Onward Crispin Glover is one of those few pop bands I would consider to be not just good, but also original and distinctive. The synergy between Byron and Brad Hughmann unleashed its power in their hook-laden songs, harmonized guitar riffs, and energetic tempos. --Mark Cuthbertson
