THe INCReDIBLe and FlipTease
the Filling Station
June 25, 1999

Review by Xenony

FlipTease opened up the evening playing about a 45min set, packed with hard hitting rhythms, catchy guitar riffs, and a front man that demanded to be heard. I enjoyed every minute of FlipTease and they did a good job of getting the crowd pumped up and ready to see THe INCReDIBLe.

As THe INCReDIBLe took the stage they wasted no time getting the crowd jumping to their opening song "Big Idea". I was pleased to see the energy coming from each memeber of the band and the way it translated into high energy music and a crowd that was giving as much energy back. As I grooved to each song I found myself entranced by the voice and presence of Alison Bauer, the beautiful co/vocalist, who along with Erik Schmutzler's flowing, yet edgy, hip-hop rhymes showed an originality that KC has been in desperate need of.

The rhythm section of THe INCReDIBLe definitely kept the crowd moving from the first powerful chord from guitarist Scott Allen to the last funky-ass bass line from Seth Baskett. Along with a full plate of hip-hop beats, Latin rhythms and hard-hitting rock drums, drummer Matt Hale completed this quintet so nicely.

They showed so many different tastes and styles ranging from an awesome cover of Blondie's "Rapture" to an energy filled version of "Long Train Runnin'" by the Doobie Brothers that left the crowd and the band gasping for breath. Those songs were mixed in with many of their original songs that I found on their debut cd "Too Much Information." I didn't waste any time picking up a CD after the show and made sure I signed their mailing list so I would be informed of future shows.

I would recommend anyone that enjoys great music and longs to see a band put on an exciting live show check out THe INCReDIBLe. You won't be disappointed but you will be sore the next morning!
