(One of the BEST local shows I've seen in a long time!)

Patient Zero:
Right from the start, I knew I would like these guys. The first thing that I noticed about them was that their drummer was extremely animated and he was really good. It was really great to see him so into the music. The songs could be described as pure rock with a lot of Beatles sound to it (so Joe from REDSHIFT thought). These guys have a really incredible sound, not just the drummer, but over-all. The singer (also the bass player) had a very distinguised voice and a pleasant sound. He played bass simply, though, and with a pick. If I had any complaints, it would be that they weren't really moving around too much. I love it when bands get so into it! But I was extremely impressed and happy with their performance.

Review of Patient Zero from Joe Fortunato (REDSHIFT):
The one thing that I really remember about them was their drummer. He was fucking awesome! He moved and kicked the shit out of that kit like I have never seen! The other guys didn't really move around that much, just him. Their sound was a lot like the Beatles I thought......and being a Beatle's lover, I really liked their sound. The sounded kick-ass and I would definitely go see them again. All of their songs were really good and they played well. They have a real hard groove rock sound, hard to describe....

Julia Surrendered:
These guys are awesome!!! Not only are they talented musicians but they are really funny and into the music as well! You should have seen all the jumping around and pushing that was going on, it was great! The guitarist would run into the singer and he would fall down like a clown--while singing! It's so hard to describe their sound....I am so bad at show reviews.....I must apologize (that's why I need your contributions, people!!!) I can definitely say that it is not punk, or funk.....alternative, modern rock. A really well put together sound. I was also extremely pleased with their performance.

Review of Julia Surrendered, according to Joe:
Man, these guys were kick ass!!! They were so fucking into it, I wanted to jump on the stage with them!! That's what really makes me like a band. Like Patient Zero was great, but they really didn't move around that much. They would be really great if they did. Not only can they move, but they can play, and George can sing and so can Patrick.....I loved it.

the Black Water
I really like these guys a lot. They were the headliners, and good reason to be. The guitarist/singer has a synthesizer (sp?) on his guitar and he is really good at creating sounds with it. They start off showly and rhythemic, and grow to be really loud and fast. The bassist is really good at keeping the songs together as the lead guitarist creates grooves and sounds that could easily make anyone look on in awe. It's really cool. I am not intentionally trying to leave out the drummer and rhythem guitarist, but I have to honestly say that I was really focusing on the lead guitarist. The rhythm player was switching channels on his guitar a lot....making a unique sound that went along well with what they were playing. Over-all, I loved them. I love this group and it has been twice now that I haven't been able to stay for the whole thing! Do you know why?? Because they always headline and my ride can't ever stay awake through it all! =)

A review of the Blackwater, from Joe:
Their sound, I would describe as unique. I am in complete and utter awe when I see him play his guitar.....he has a synthesizer on it and he really knows what he's doing with it. I am so jealous! I want one! I can't describe these guys, you just have to go see them. I love this music.

NOTE~~This show at the Granada was one of the best local shows that I have ever seen.......I also had the pleasure of meeting Keith from The Switch, Jay Bredwell, The Blackwater, Julia Surrendered, and the bass player from Patient Zero. All very nice guys! I had a really good time. =)
