The Touchdowns (Iola, KS) formed in a quaint little basement in the summer of 1997 when they were only 14. After two semesters of Skinemax, cheese pizza, and really bad Michael Douglas movies the three ventured into Red House Recording to record a fully loaded demo, "Rookie Phenom", which is available at local record stores in Lawrence and Kansas City. Influences include R.E.M., Supergrass, Nirvana, Beck, Primus, and Weezer.
The relationship between this lineup deteriorated, and the band split up. Shortly after, Ryan announced during a Manhattan Skate Park Benefit show that it would be
his last.. JoJo and Cam from the incredible Podstar had taken over the guitar and bass duties, but Ryan thought it was time to hang it up... It was a sad time for all.
However, with inspiration from fans and friends, Ryan realized his Rock n' Roll destiny had not yet been fulfilled, so he decided to come back once again. JoJo and
Cam were now full-time members, and the rock could go on. Recently, the debut full-length, "My Wonderful High School Life" was released to the masses.
